Dance Etiquette and Uniform
For All Students
All individuals, regardless of age or vaccination status, should consider wearing a mask. Masks are optional at St. Marks Church and Dance Studio.
Leotards, tights, and ballet slippers are to be worn by all students.
Boys are to wear white tee shirt, black pants, and black slippers.
Girls are to wear light blue leotard for our younger classes and black for our older students. For children’s classes, please consult your teacher for the correct dress code.
Please remove your street shoes before entering the studio.
Students are to arrive already dressed in their dance attire.
Children’s hair must be neat and pulled away from the face. Please no jewelry.
Food and/or chewing gum is not allowed in the studio.
Students are expected to arrive dressed and prepared for class. When late, students must ask the teacher for permission to enter class. It is the teacher’s decision whether a student may participate in class for that day. Students arriving late may be required to observe class.
Parents and friends are NOT allowed to observe class except with the teacher’s permission.
If a student misses a class because of illness, that class may be made up with the same teacher or another teacher, provided space is available. Make up classes must be arranged in advance.
St. Mark’s Dance Studio follows the closures of DC public schools during inclement weather. However, when necessary, the teacher may opt to offer class virtually through Zoom.
Should you have any question, please ask the teacher of your class.
Please make sure we have the correct email address on file for you. Update when necessary.
